Konstfack Research Week is an annual event in the Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, Sweden. NoVA students Ji Youn Lee and Tyler Liu did a short term study trip to Konstfack Research Week 2020 in January 2020. Read how they experienced the Node II More-Than-Rational Methodologies and the other program.
I was very excited to see all my peer-students, teachers and professors from different universities. NoVA symposiums are always great opportunities to exchange ideas with everyone. During the 3rd symposium we visited Fotografiska (Museum of Photography) and Snösätra Wall of Fame (a famous graffiti area outside the suburb Rågsved). We also discussed about our thesis plans and learnt more about research methodologies.
The process by which action and language becomes written words is heavy for me. Included within this is the process of reading and interpreting. Through experiencing this unfamiliarity I realized that there was great joy and discovery in theory and practice, and the journey between them.
As a part of my NoVA studies I spent the spring semester 2017 in exchange at Aalborg University – Copenhagen in Denmark. In a course project we studied CAMP – Center for Art on Migration Politics. I am sharing some insights from my experiences during the exchange.
I have spent the last semester on exchange at Oslo and Akershus University College Of Applied Sciences (Norway). Oslo city is full of diverse public art pieces and events and also has a very lively contemporary art scene. Almost every week there is an opening of a new exhibition at different venues. By luck, I happened to get my summer internship at the Oslo based public art production company Kulturbyrået Mesén. Thanks to that, I prolonged my stay in Norway and got the opportunity to get more closely acquainted with the Nordic art market, as well as delve into the details of public art production processes. Thus, my suggestions will be concentrated on the events and happenings in Norway (primarily in Oslo).
As a NoVA on exchange in Spring semester 2017 in Oslo, one of the courses offered at Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences within Masters in Aesthetic Subjects curriculum was called Project in Practice (PIP). The course focused on development, planning, and production of practical artistic projects included in artistic research in diverse […]
